The Best of Cardiogolf in 2014-Is Your Age Causing Your Golf Game to Deteriorate?

KarenGolf Fitness, Misc

As we age, our bodies don’t start up as quickly.  It may take 5 or 6 holes to get warmed up before you start feeling comfortable with your swing and by that time, your score may already be ruined.  You may get tired around holes 14 or 15 and end up limping into the clubhouse. But age doesn’t have to affect our golf games.  We can increase muscle strength, gain endurance, preserve bone density and improve balance to prevent our games from deteriorating at any age.  It all starts with improving fitness. Is Your Age Affecting Your Swing?

Is Your Age Affecting Your Swing?

Keys to  Age Proofing Your Golf Game-

1. Flexibility and Balance: As we age, we loose flexibility and balance, but these are things that can be maintained and even improved.

2. Strength and Endurance:

Strength and endurance training can help prevent the loss of muscle mass that normally accompanies the aging process.

3. Swing Technique:

As we age, we tend to lose coordination, so it is important to keep our skills sharp. Taking lessons to correct a swing fault or adding a practice session, once a week,  for the short game can help keep our games sharp.
