Congratulations to Jim McLean for 25 Years of Excellence

KarenGolf Fitness, News

Congratulations to one of my golf mentors Jim McLean for entering his 25th year of teaching at Trump National Doral in Miami.  Mr. McLean established his golf school at Doral Resort in 1991 and it has been one of the top golf instructional schools in the world ever since. The picture above is me along with my Dad in 1997 during my stint as a Master Instructor at the Jim McLean School in Miami.

I started teaching at the Jim McLean School at Doral Resort in 1997.  It was one of the best times in my career.  Jim is one of the most prolific teachers that I have ever met.  The author of several instructional books and videos, he has spent 1000 of hours training young teachers in his methodology.  Jim took me under his wing along with several other instructors that have gone on to become well-known teachers themselves including Kevin Sprecher, Michael Hunt, Debbie Doniger and Glen Farnsworth.

As a young instructor Jim studied and observed some of the greatest teachers of the time including former Masters champion Jackie Burke and golf legend teachers Bob Toski and Jim Flick. He quickly established himself as one of the top instructors working with tour players including former US Open champion Tom Kite, Brad Faxon, Eric Compton, Lexi Thompson and former Women’s US Open champion Christie Kerr. Jim has schools all over the world  and he was recently inducted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame.

I learned a lot during my time with Jim McLean. I learned hundreds of swings drills and teaching tips that I still use in my system today.  I created and developed my Cardiogolf program while I was at the Jim McLean Golf School in Miami incorporating swing drills that I learned from Jim along with fitness.

I will be forever grateful to Jim for giving me the opportunity to work for him and for passing on his passion for teaching to me.

Congratulations Jim McLean and wishing you many more years teaching.
