Day 15-Alternating Leg Extensions

Your ability to control your core is important to stay down and through your golf swing.  You may hear how it is important to maintain your angles throughout your swing. If you lift or come out of your angles, you’ll miss hit shots.

If your core, including the pelvis and hips are weak and unstable, then you’ll start to use other parts of your body to hit the ball.  Most of the time, you’ll end up flipping your hands through impact if your core doesn’t stabilize, resulting in thin or fat shots.

Try this exercise to learn how to stabilize your core as your hips move, just like you have to do in the golf swing.

1.  Lay on your back and lift your legs and bend your knees.

2. Keep your core tight and straighten one leg.  You and simply straighten the leg or touch your heel to the ground.

3. Return to the start position and repeat on the opposite leg.

4. Repeat the motion 8 to 10 repetitions alternating legs.
