31 Days to Improving Your Fitness for Better Golf in 2015
Join me to Kickoff the New Year by Improving your Fitness for Better Golf.
Day 9-Golf-Fitness Assessment
A Note from Karen:
The off-season is the perfect time to start taking inventory of your body and swing so you can continue to improve and be ready for the start of next golf season.
In order to best determine how to reach your fitness goals, you first need to figure out where you are, physically. A fitness evaluation is your first step in building a golf fitness program. Identifying and correcting your physical limitations should be a focal point in your golf-specific fitness program.
Reasons to Perform a Basic Golf-Specific Fitness Screen–
- To determine strengths and weaknesses in the body to develop a proper golf specific fitness program based on your needs
- Helps you detect physical problems so that you can improves functional fitness and athletic performance
- Helps to reduce the potential for training and sports injuries
- Provides a simple grading system to assess movement patterns
- Creates a functional baseline to mark progress
- To determine if you have symmetrical limitations (both sides of body) or asymmetrical limitations (one side of the body).
- To determine your stability, which is the ability to hold yourself in a certain position for a length of time.
- To determine your strength, flexibility and mobility
