Day 3-Yoga-

Although yoga  has been in the mainstream of general fitness for a few years now, golfers are just starting to consider this discipline to help improve their golf games. Many PGA Tour players such as Camilo Villegas and Vijay Singh have been practicing yoga for years now with dramatic results.

Child’s Pose-

If certain parts of your body are tight or inflexible, you won’t be able to swing the club freely.  This leads to an incomplete shoulder and torso turn. Your body then has to finds other ways to get the club into position. This usually involves some sort of incorrect move or compensation.

If your shoulders and lat muscles are tight, then this will limit how far you can turn back.

This yoga exercise targets those areas.

1. Kneel on the ground.

2. Slowly bend your torso forward to the ground from your hip sockets, keeping your spine straight.

3. Stretch your arms out away from you and reach your hands as far possible as shown.

4.  Hold this position for a moment and return to start position.

5. Repeat motion 3 to 4 times.

This exercise can be down before or after a round of golf.
