Weekend golfers tend to be tight in certain areas including the hips, preventing golfers from reaching their full potential. Doing dynamic stretches can help you maintain or even increase your range of motion for a smoother, more effective weight shift. And who doesn’t want that?
This exercise will loosen up your hips for better weight shift and improve your balance. It will also help you build muscular endurance and balance for better golf.
Hip Circles
- Using a club as balance, lift one foot up off ground.
- Circle your leg clockwise for 8 to 10 repetitions.
- Reverse the motion and circle the same leg counter-clockwise.
- Exhale and inhale as you circle your leg.
- Repeat on opposite leg.
- Do 8 to 10 repetitions on both legs in both directions.
