Although many people may not think that the golf swing is an athletic movement, if you play golf, you know that is not true. You need tons of strength in your arms, shoulders, core and legs to make your swing smooth, natural and powerful.

Planks are one of the best exercises to develop strength, not only in the core and hips but to develop upper body strength as well. Planks are one of the best exercises to condition the core as well as help postural muscles, all important for the golf swing and putting stroke.

Plank with Side Step
  1. Start is a plank position.
  2. Keep your abdominal muscles tight as you step your feet out side to side.
  3. Alternate stepping side to side as you keep your upper body stable.
  4. Repeat for 8 to 10 repetitions on each side.
