Cardiogolf Keys to a Smooth Swing

KarenGolf Fitness, Misc

Balance and Rotation are your keys to help you smooth out your golf swing.  Why do you want your swing to be smooth?

Because the smoother your swing, the better your timing and tempo. Good timing and tempo can make up for a variety of swing errors.

Practicing exercises that challenge your balance and rotation can help you move more smoothly through all phases of your golf swing improving your timing and tempo and ball striking.

1. Single-Leg Balance Touch-This exercise not only challenges your balance, but works your core, glutes and hamstrings.

2. Lunge with Twist-Once down in the lunge position, the legs must work harder to stabilize, so not to fall over  as the upper rotates.  The same movement needed in the golf swing. KPJ’s Teaching Philosophy –  I focus on teaching my students the fundamentals of the swing.  I try not to get too technical or position oriented.  I think a golf swing is about getting the clubface square at impact with rhythm and tempo. I try to adjust my instruction to the ability, interests and motivations of the player I am teaching. Together we will spend time developing an appropriate approach for them to play the game and help them set and achieve short and long terms goals.
