Day 25-10 More Yards in 30 Days

KarenGolf Fitness, Misc

We have a week left in our 30-day program to gain 10 more yards.  We have worked on our fundamentals, stretched and strengthen muscles, now let’s try to swing the club faster to gain more speed.

Day 25-

Cardiogolf can help you increase clubhead speed for more distance. Clubhead speed or velocity is the key to distance. The greater the clubhead speed velocity at impact, the greater the ball velocity. The faster the ball turns, the farther it will fly. There are a number of variables which control how much velocity a golfer can create: including swing mechanics, flexibility, strength and speed. To create more clubhead speed you need to practice swinging the club faster. This workout routine will help you develop speed by having you swing the club fastest. You will be doing practice swings alternating between a regular club, a heavy club and a light club. If you do not have these clubs, simply use two clubs for a heavy club and turn your regular club upside down and grip it by the clubhead to make a light club.

Time: Allow 5 minutes for warm up routine and 10 minutes for the velocity routine.

Directions: After you have performed the warmup, perform each exercise for 8 to 10 repetitions (swings).

Frequency: 2 times this week

Intensity: Intense

Golf Fitness Workout to Increase Distance and Consistency-Cardiogolf

Cardiogolf is a golf specific workout designed by LPGA Teacher of the Year Karen Palacios-Jansen. Participants learn exercises to promote better swing mechanics, flexibility, strength and balance throughout the golf swing. The routine is a combination of swing drills and golf specific exercises. It accommodates every golfer regardless of gender, age and skill level or fitness level. All you need is a 4 x 4 sq ft space to do the golf swing exercises. If you don’t have a short practice club or enough room to swing a club, you can use a soccer ball or tennis racquet to simulate the golf swing. We will be doing practice swings, but you can do all the exercises without a club as well. I will show you how. We will not actually be hitting balls, but exercises to improve your swing mechanics as well as flexibility and strength.
