What Will Your Golf Swing Look Like in 10 Years?

A Note from Karen:                                                                                                               Ten years sounds like a long way away, so why should you worry about what your golf swing will be like years from now?  Because 10 YEARS  go by quickly.  It was only a short 10-years-ago that we posted our first pictures on Facebook.  Doesn’t that seem like just yesterday? So don’t put off starting a program to help you improve your fitness and golf swing.

What Will Your Golf Swing Look Like in 10 Years?

What will your swing be like in 10 years?                                                      What will your swing be like in 10 years?

Will it be smooth and flowing?  Powerful and in balance?  Or will you lose your balance as your swing gets short and choppy.  Your body shape changes naturally as you age. You lose muscle  mass and joints stiffen making it more difficult to move.  Excess body fat and changes in body shape also affect your balance.  You can’t move around, walk or run as quickly, you lose your balance more often, it gets harder to lift things, so if this happens just in everyday life, imagine what these changes will do to your golf swing?

The golf swing requires strength, balance, stability, speed and flexibility.  If you lose these things as you age, then how do you expect your golf swing to stay the same or improve?

But age doesn’t have to affect your game.  We can increase muscle strength, gain endurance, preserve bone density and improve balance to prevent our games from deteriorating at any age.  It all starts with improving fitness.

Forward Lunge with Twist with a Golf Club for Stability and Strength in Lower Body

To maximize your power,  you need to have a strong base in your lower body so that you rotate your upper body independently from your lower body.  If your base isn’t stable, then you’ll over rotate or just lift your arms destroying any chance for power.

The forward lunge with a twist will train your ability to rotate your upper body over the resistance of your lower body for a more powerful turn and weight shift.
